Alabama Crimson Tide: News, Alerts and Updates

Alabama Crimson Tide football fans weren’t expecting any surprises on National Signing Day, but Bama managed to add another signing to his senior recruit class.

Alabama Football landed 3-star Tuscaloosa product Sawyer Deerman on signing day. Despite being undersized, Deerman is a versatile skill player who could one day be a useful weapon for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Former Alabama linebacker Demouy Kennedy, who joined the NCAA transfer portal in January, has signed with Colorado. Kennedy used to be Alabama State’s top-ranked player in the 2020 class but was stuck behind a linebacker stoppage early in his career. In 2022 he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and missed most of the season.

Demouy Kennedy ended the Alabama chapter of his career with just eight tackles. He never cracked the starting lineup on defense but has been a stalwart on special teams and even played a few running backs in 2021. Kennedy still has plenty of talent as a linebacker and will have an opportunity to rekindle his career with Coach Prime in Boulder.

Alabama Crimson Tide Football: NFL News and Updates

Former Alabama linebacker Henry To’o To’o will no longer attend the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Like former Alabama safetyman Jordan Battle, To’o To’o will not play due to injury. He totaled 205 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks over two seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama will continue to be represented in the Senior Bowl by tight end Cameron Latu, offensive linemen Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Tyler Steen, defensive linemen Byron Young and DJ Dale, and safety DeMarcco Hellams.

Former Alabama center Landon Dickerson is expected to play in the Super Bowl after suffering an elbow injury in the NFC Championship game. Dickerson, who starts as a guard for the Philadelphia Eagles, wouldn’t miss a game of this magnitude. Alabama football fans will remember that in the waning moments of Alabama’s 2020 national championship win, Dickerson took the field with a torn cruciate ligament.

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa also reached a positive milestone on his road to recovery. Tagovailoa cleared the concussion record after sustaining a head injury over a month ago on Christmas Day.

Given that Tua has suffered several alarming concussions this season and has an extensive injury history, his future in the sport remains uncertain.

State of Alabama Crimson Tide Basketball

The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team hoped to start another long winning streak by ousting Vanderbilt from Coleman Coliseum earlier this week. Alabama is now 18-3 and 9-0 in the conference, with some very impressive wins and just one bad loss.

The Crimson Tide résumé would hold its own against anyone in the country. Nate Oats’ team currently sits alone in first place in the SEC and is projecting into the NCAA tournament as a one-seed.

Bama Hoops is preparing to end the year strong with just nine regular season games left.
