Alabama transfer Demouy Kennedy lands in Colorado

On Wednesday morning, the Buffs landed a surprise signing from Alabama transfer LB Demouy Kennedy.

kennedy announced his decision on his Instagram page in a huge get for Coach Prime. The buffs added another huge defensive element for a roster that changes by the day.

Here are a few things you should know about Kennedy:

FORMER FOUR STAR RECRUIT

Kennedy was a four-star recruit graduating from high school and the No. 38 prospective in the class of 2020.

PLAYED LINEBACKER AND SPECIAL TEAMS… AND RUNNING BACK

Kennedy spent three years with Alabama and was deployed as a linebacker and made an impact on special teams. However, an interesting note is that he was used as a running back.

Charles Kelly came over from Alabama to join Coach Prime’s staff in Boulder, and now Kennedy and Kelly are back together.

KENNEDY’S 2022 STATISTICS

Kennedy played just five games in 2022 and had one tackle. He suffered a knee injury at the end of the season.

According to On3, Kennedy was the No. 55 linebacker in the portal. However, he barely played in 2022 and has been part of a talented Alabama defense for the past three seasons.

He’ll have a lot of options in Boulder and should make a great addition to an overhauled defense for the buffs.
