
CULLMAN, Ala. – The North Alabama Agriplex continues to offer educational and exciting courses for naturalists of all ages. In February, classes will cover a range of subjects from woodworking to beekeeping.
February 2nd
Heritage Homeschool Secondary – Be a field biologist
noon-2pm
$10 per child, maximum $20 for families
Homeschooled students in grades 6 through 12 will take part in interactive presentations by International Crane Foundation biologist Jessie Taylor on “Name that Adaptation” and “Be a Field Biologist.”
February 4th
Farm Kids Club – Seed Safari
9-10:30 a.m
$10 per child, maximum $20 for families
Children aged 5+ learn about seeds and how they grow and plant their own seeds to take home and watch as they grow.
February 7th
Living Landscapes – Start your hobby greenhouse
6 p.m
$10 per person
In the sustainability series, Tony Glover will show how to run a personal greenhouse as a hobby or for profit.
February 10th
Small farmers – garden friends
10-11 a.m
$5 per child, maximum $10 for family
Children aged 3 to 5 years are introduced to the creatures that live in and under the garden.

Lunch and Learn – Which trees are for me?
12-1 p.m
Free
Bring your own lunch and find out which trees are right for you ahead of the February 18 tree sale. Stay tuned for more information on tree sales.

Veteran and aspiring farmer – so you want to keep bees for fun and profit?

Free
The workshop will provide an introduction to beekeeping with the Alabama Cooperative Extension and local beekeepers presenting a panel discussion and exhibits.

Heritage Homeschool Elementary – Pottery with Rebecca Horner of Keramos Ceramics
9-11 a.m
$20 per child, class capacity of 25
Homeschool students from kindergarten through sixth grade will learn the pottery process and make their own pots to take home.

Heritage Skills – How to get started with woodworking
6-8 p.m
$10 per person
The course will be run by the Cullman Woodworkers Guild who will demonstrate basic woodworking tools and techniques.
