Nevada City, CA January 30, 2023 – It’s not just a rumor! Acclaimed tribute band Fleetwood Mac will perform all your favorite hits on Friday 10th Februaryth at Miners Foundry. Don’t miss this evening, which encourages audience participation when Bay Area’s Fleetwood Macrame takes the stage.
Founding member Linda Moody took on the role of Stevie Nicks and said this is a night of sharing the love and spirit of the legendary band: “It’s such a community experience. First and foremost, we love Fleetwood Mac. I’ve been singing Stevie Nicks into my hairbrush in the mirror since I was ten! It feels incredible to play this music as an experience. We love all music.”
The band formed about seven years ago when Moody and Jai Bird (aka Mick Fleetwood) discovered a mutual fondness for all things Fleetwood Mac during a jam session and decided to form a band for a fun night out at a small San Francisco venue to put together.
It was so well received that they decided to move on and have since played to thousands of adoring fans of the legendary group. “The response was overwhelming. We all just had the best time. It became a sing-along. People cried. In the end people came with their stories of memories and stuff. So in the end we decided to keep going. It was just so much fun.” Tori Fulkerson-Jones (aka John McVie), Owen Adair Kelley (aka Lindsey Buckingham) and Madeline Tasquin Streicek (Christine McVie) complete the tribute band.
Moody went on to explain that Fleetwood Macrame also serves as a place where people can feel safe to express themselves: “All Fleetwood Mac fans are proving to be incredibly kind, wonderful and warm people. And three of us in the band are queer, so we started out as a queer safe place for people to come and be. That’s also part of it – creating this sense of community through music is, so to speak, my life’s work – that’s what it’s all about for me – bringing people together through music and singing together.”
The music carries the audience through a range of emotions, from funny and upbeat to heartbreaking loss, Moody said, “The music is really deep. There is a great variety. There are many upbeat songs and there are heartbreaking songs that bind the audience in this experience of loss, faith and hope. It is emotional music that creates a healing experience for everyone involved.”
Moody said that the band ultimately serves as a vessel: “We’re trying to channel the band’s energy and we’re trying to sound like them, but we also recognize that we’re not Fleetwood Mac. We’re just people who can play this music and hopefully inspire others.”
She said they’re excited for viewers to join in: “We invite the audience to sing along and we hope they sing as loud as they can. We have a community experience.”
