School delays and cancellations for Monday 30 January |

Some schools and school districts are announcing delays and/or cancellations for Monday, January 30 due to winter weather conditions.

Washoe County:

All schools in the Washoe County School District (including Incline Village) will be delayed by two hours on Monday, January 30 due to hazardous weather and road conditions.

Classes start two hours later and winter bus stops apply.

The Washoe County School District released the following message:

Hello Washoe County School District Families,

This is an important announcement from the District for Monday, January 30th.

Due to dangerous weather and road conditions, all schools will be delayed by two hours. Classes will start two hours later and winter bus stops will be effective from Monday 30th January.

Please remember to drive slowly and carefully. Students wait for buses, go to school at different times, use different routes, and may walk on the street. Please help protect our students and take care of each other.

Also for Monday 30th January all schools will start two hours later and winter bus stops will apply.

Mater Academy of Northern Nevada:

The Mater Academy of Northern Nevada is two hours late.

Preschool for little learners:

Little Learners Preschool is delayed by two hours.

St. John’s Children’s Center:

St. John’s Childrens Center is two hours late.

Catholic High School Bishop Manogue:

Bishop Manogue Catholic High School has a two-hour delay.

Catholic School of St. Albert the Great:

St. Albert the Great Catholic School has a two-hour delay.

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC):

All TMCC web and web live courses and remote operations continue as planned. However, TMCC physical locations, including the child care center, will open at 10:00 am due to anticipated hazardous driving conditions. All face-to-face events and face-to-face operations before 10:00 a.m. are cancelled.

Pine Crest Academy:

Pine Crest Academy has a two-hour delay.

University of Nevada, Reno (UNR):

The University of Nevada, Reno will have a delayed start until 10 a.m

The university released the following message:

Following an assessment of anticipated overnight weather and road conditions in the area surrounding the University of Nevada, the Reno campus and the northern Nevada area, a decision was made to delay the start of non-essential campus operations (campus operations refers to all work, conducted on the university’s main campus, office, property, fieldwork, or sponsored events in Reno) through Monday, January 30, 10 a.m.

Web courses and remote operations will continue as planned. However, due to hazardous driving conditions, physical locations will open at 10:00am. All face-to-face courses before 10:00 a.m. are cancelled.

The Redfield campus, Building A at 18600 Wedge Pkwy., is also delayed and will open at 10:00 am. The University of Nevada at the Wayne L. Prim campus in Lake Tahoe has also delayed the start of non-essential campus operations to 10:00 a.m.

Western Nevada College Carson City Campus and Child Development Center:

Western Nevada College’s Carson City campus and Child Development Center will begin operating Monday with a two-hour delay due to adverse weather conditions.

Operations begin at 10 a.m

Excel Christian School has a two-hour delay
