There’s good news for folks who are hungry right now, because Yelp has released its 10th annual list of the country’s top 100 restaurants and Pennsylvania has a trio of representatives.
Yelp said it created the list by reaching out to Yelper to find their favorite restaurants. The site said it then “ranked each by total number of submissions, ratings, reviews and geographic representation, among other things.”
And the top restaurant for ticking all the boxes in Pennsylvania is just a short drive from Harrisburg.
Lancaster’s Chellas Arepa Kitchen landed at number 11 on the list.
- He has red fur, a bushy tail, and hasn’t lived in Pennsylvania for more than 100 years. This could change soon
- The former Steelers great is launching the Steel City Greats cannabis line
“This roadside trailer is like a portal to South America, thanks in large part to its delicious take on Venezuelan arepa sandwiches,” wrote Yelp. “The traditional corn cakes are filled with a variety of Peruvian-Venezuelan ingredients influenced by owner Luis Quiroz’s upbringing in Peru.”
Among other things, Yelp said customers “line up for favorites like the Lomo Arepa, which is loaded with grilled steak, sautéed red onions, tomatoes, and fried yuca, then drizzled with a homemade chimichurri sauce.”
There’s a long list of delicious-sounding dishes that the site lists as must-trys at this place.
Two Birds Cafe in West Chester was the second highest pa. restaurant on the list at number 51.
The website states: “People flock to Two Birds Cafe for everything from breakfast and lunch, which is made from scratch to freshly baked breads and pastries with a ‘fresh-out-of-the-oven vibe’ . It said that Jess and Justin Minchak opened Two Birds in 2019 “after dreaming of opening their own restaurant for more than 5 years”.
Listed first among popular dishes – cinnamon rolls.
Sounds great.
And finally, Pittsburgh’s Pitaland rounded out the trio of Keystone State food stops, coming in at #96 on the list.
Yelp said it’s “regarded as Pittsburgh’s original Middle Eastern bakery” and that it “makes about 10,000 pocket breads every day.”
Listed as a favorite there – the lamb burger, which Yelp says features “freshly ground lamb mixed with rosemary, mint, garlic and topped with creamy feta, pickled red onions, arugula and herb mayo on a toasted ciabatta bun.”
The site says the burger is “indescribable.”
So, anyway, hungry now? If so, you know where to go. And even if you’re not in Pennsylvania, there are 97 other restaurants on the list. Check them out here.
