At the end of January and beginning of February, local government agencies meet in regular and special meetings to conduct business.

Meetings in Center County — including sanitation officials, community supervisors and school boards — will be held this week where officials will discuss issues and take action that could directly impact residents.

It can be difficult to know when certain bodies meet and to understand what actions members may or may not take. The Pennsylvania Sunshine Act requires local governments to publish an agenda, which should include a list of all business items that will or may become the subject of deliberation or action at the meeting, at the meeting site, and at the agency’s office. If they have a publicly accessible website, the agenda must also be published there 24 hours before the meeting.

Here’s a look at which local government agencies and school boards will be meeting between January 30 and February 2, based on information available via legal listings on each municipality or school’s website. This list may be updated as more meeting agendas and schedules become available.
